Poll results: Are you addicted to ...

Since this is a porn blog, it's not all that surprising that the average reader is more likely to be into porn, sex, and surfing the net, and less likely to be addicted to gambling or stealing. However, only one person wasn't addicted to anything, so basically we're all (but one) in the same addiction boat.

Being hooked on things like porn, sex, or the net, doesn't involve the obvious negative consequences of, say, kleptomania or gambling, nor the physical costs of drug dependency. However, if a habit is out of control then it stops being fun, no matter how harmless it might seem.

So, are we happy addicts, or hurtling-down-a-spiral-into-the-abyss addicts? And if we want to get our habits in check then how can we do that?

Results of the poll are in! "Trimmed" wins the popular vote, "fully-grown" comes in second, and "shaven-off" trails in last. I'm totally in agreement with this. If things have grown completely wild then a trim can tidy it up, but genitals do not need hairstyles. For example, the not-atall-subtle trick of clean-shaving the base of the cock and trimming a hard edge around it (see exhibit A, above left). Yes, trimming around the base kind of makes the cock look longer (from a distance, if you squint), but a bald patch with a severe "Dave Hill from Slade" fringe makes your cock look like its toupee has slipped. Sometimes nature knows best.

Poll results: Influence of bareback porn

Thanks to everyone who voted, these are interesting results! I expected more to choose "Maybe, in some cases", but instead the majority went for a definite "Yes": bareback porn does influence men to bareback.

Personally, I'm not sure. I don't believe that people copy what they see against their own will. Even if some do, the existence of an impressionable minority should not prevent the rest of us from viewing what we choose. On the other hand, I know porn feeds fantasies which can lead to changes in behaviour. This power is part of its fascination; the way it can heat the mind, helping us into a state where we act on our primal impulses instead of reasoning. Maybe it's a good and important influence. Maybe it's just the push we need.

To the people who voted "Yes": what makes you so sure? Has bareback porn influenced you or your friends to bareback? If so, how do you feel about that? Are you sad that you were influenced into risky behaviour, or happy to have been encouraged into having more fulfilling sex? If you're in the minority who voted "No", why do you think so few people agree with you?
